Abstract

Izvještaj završava preporukama s ciljem unapređenja uvjeta rada i bolje regulacije samoga sezonskoga rada.. --------------- IN ENGLISH: The report provides analysis of seasonal work in Croatia from three perspectives. First, we present the available administrative data on the prevalence of seasonal work on the labor market in Croatia, the activities in which it prevails, and the sociodemographic determinants of seasonal workers. Secondly, we analyse the normative framework of seasonal work in Croatia. And third, the report provides a presentation and analysis of the results of a qualitative research on the experiences of seasonal work carried out as part of the project "Work Fit for People" in the period from May to July 2021. The analysis is focused on the aspects of working conditions significantly shaping the experiences of seasonal work, such as: salary, working hours, intensity of work, as well as breach of contract regulations. The results suggest that seasonal work is, according to all aspects, often a very low quality work, either in the sense of the quality of working hours, salary, health protection or safety of employment. The report ends with recommendations aimed at improving working conditions and better regulation of seasonal work itself.
