Abstract
IN ENGLISH: Research suggests that the effect of emergency remote education on the motivation of gifted students during the COVID-19 pandemic differs from that observed in traditional students. The main aim of the present study was to explore the lived experience of academic motivation among gifted high school students in Croatia, Serbia, and Slovenia. Semistructured interviews were conducted with 47 gifted students aged 15 to 18, using the same methodological procedure in the three countries with similar educational backgrounds. Grounded in gifted students’ narratives about their academic motivation, we detected three groups of students who experienced decreased, no change in, or increased academic motivation. Furthermore, we identified group-specific patterns based on the most common activities and salient features of students’ school context, learning, and leisure time during the pandemic. --------------- IN CROATIAN: Prema ovom istraživanju, hitno provedeno obrazovanje na daljinu za vrijeme pandemije COVID-19 drugačije je utjecalo na motivaciju darovitih učenika u odnosu na motivaciju učenika koji nisu daroviti. Glavni cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati na koji se način akademska motivacija ostvaruje u življenom iskustvu darovitih srednjoškolaca u Hrvatskoj, Srbiji i Sloveniji. Polustrukturirani intervjui provedeni su s 47 darovitih učenika u dobi od 15 do 18 godina korištenjem jednake metodološke procedure u trima državama sličnih obrazovnih sustava. Temeljem narativa darovitih učenika o svojoj akademskoj motivaciji detektirali smo tri skupine učenika: one koji su iskusili smanjenu motivaciju, one koji nisu iskusili promjenu u motivaciji, i one čija se akademska motivacija povećala. Povrh toga, identificirali smo obrasce specifične za pojedinu skupinu temeljene na najučestalijim aktivnostima i najistaknutijim obilježjima učeničkog školskog konteksta, učenja i provođenja slobodnog vremena za vrijeme pandemije.
