Abstract

IN CROATIAN: Poglavlje započinje pregledom dosadašnjih empirijskih spoznaja o ulozi ličnosti u obrazovanju, pri čemu se kao teorijski okvir koristi petfaktorski model ličnosti. Poglavlje daje pregled veza svake od predloženih pet dimenzija ličnosti – neuroticizma, ekstraverzije, otvorenosti iskustvu, ugodnosti i savjesnosti – s pojedinim elementima vezanim uz učenje i akademski uspjeh u međunarodnim okvirima i u hrvatskom obrazovnom kontekstu. U drugom dijelu poglavlja opisano je istraživanje povezanosti pet dimenzija ličnosti i strategija učenja na uzorku učenika osmih razreda u nas. ------------- IN ENGLISH: The chapter begins with an overview of existing empirical findings on the role of personality in education, where the five-factor model of personality is employed as a theoretical framework. The chapter brings an overview of relations of each of the proposed personality dimensions – neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness and conscientiousness – with particular elements related to learning and to academic success in the international and Croatian educational context. In the second part of the chapter, the research on the relations between five personality dimensions and learning strategies, conducted on a sample of eighth grade pupils in Croatia, is described.
