Abstract

The study compares Roma and mainstream parents’ involvement in the education of their children based on Epstein's six dimensional model of parent-school partnership. The survey was conducted in Croatia on two subsamples: Roma parents N = 60 and mainstream parents N = 908. Results show that Roma parents show lower interest for participation in volunteer work and school's decision making, they rate their children's achievement and school satisfaction lower and also have lower academic aspirations for their children.
